Report Summary

Rohan King, a farmer from Darlington Point, saw a 1.5% increase in protein content in his irrigated Durum wheat crop. The irrigated crop tested at 13.5 per cent protein and yielded an average of 8 t/ha (increase by 23.08%), compared to the district average of 6.5 t/ha. 280 (87.50%) tonnes of his 320 tonnes Duram wheat grading DR1, the best quality classification and the remaining 40 tonnes (12.50%) are second graded DR2. The 40-hectare trial conducted, involved applying (BEST TerraMend Agricultural) TM Ag as a pre and post-sowing tank mix on a less fertile section of Rohan’s land. The trial yielded positive observations, including improved soil health with deeper rooting, better structure, and increased earthworm and mycorrhizal fungi activity. While initial plant counts were under 80 per square meter, the crop quickly recovered and surpassed the district average yield. The increase of Duram wheat yield and quality attributed to promoting beneficial soil microbes by TM Ag. Mr. King’s plan to ramp up TM Ag application in his farm from 40 ha to 300 ha next year after observed the numerous benefits of the product to the soil and crop.
